10 ways to SIMPLIFY all of life? Bring it.

[From the archives.]

We’re all surfing the waves of life dot complicated and we need a bit of simple.

If we can keep the Big Rocks straightforward and steady, there will be grace for the chaos of gravel. So here’s what I’m trying:

# 1 – SOUL

The Creator-King wants to meet with you every day. The choice is simple: Either you’re going to show up, or you’re not.

# 2 – MARRIAGE

Communicate, communicate, communicate. Keep finding each other.

# 3 – KIDS

It’s their hearts that matter. The rest is detail. And beautiful detail develops from soft, strong hearts. Keep praying that God would show you their hearts. Go hard after their hearts, every time.

# 4 – FRIENDS

Be a happy, uncomplicated friend. Don’t waste an interaction by offering anything other than warm words of life.

# 5 – CAREER

Don’t add to the noise. As far as possible, only do the things that only you can do.

# 6 – FOOD

Don’t worry about it. Don’t worship it. Before every meal, treat or temptation, pray: Choose my weight; choose my plate.

# 7 – REST

Set a nighttime downtime alarm: a reminder to wind down. Then don’t check your phone again until after breakfast.

# 8 – MOVE

Find ways to be active every day. Try your hardest. Have as much fun as possible.

# 9 – HOME

Keep it tidy. Put things away when you’re done. Keep it real. Make space for the raucous and the resting.

# 10 – MONEY

Pray for wisdom. Budget. Give. Save. Live. Enjoy. Repeat.
