Am I fun to live with?

I have that question and this photo of our boys stuck up in the kitchen. Because sometimes I’m no fun at all (i.e. ‘Stop that no come here now don’t eat that put that down pack that away!’).

D. Edmond Hiebert said, ‘Love is the highest blessing in an earthly home, and of this the wife is the natural centre.’ Which means if Mama ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy.

So every day I try to make at least one mountain of adventure somewhere on the mundane plains of quotidian life. Even if that just means allowing dirty feet to jump on a clean duvet cover. Sometimes I let Fun win at rock-paper-scissors against Hygiene / Common Sense / Bed Time.

I hope that maybe I’m building memories and living before my watching kids something of the abundant life that Jesus gives.
